The Power of Family Support in Shaping Aviators 

My father kept his entire lifelong FD, his savings, as collateral for my CPL loan, and my mother used to motivate me when I was struggling to get a job. She would say, "I will go to this temple; I will do this to impress God." I received amazing support from my elder brothers who kept encouraging me to keep trying and moving forward during these difficult times. 

Behind every successful aviator is a family that stood by them, offering encouragement, sacrifices, and unwavering support. Becoming a pilot is not just an individual journey—it is a collective effort where parents and guardians play a crucial role. From fostering a love for aviation at an early age to providing emotional and financial backing, parental influence can make or break an aspiring aviator’s career. 

A Childhood Dream Takes Flight 

I would like to request all parents to support their children’s dreams. If your child loves aircraft, flying simulators, watching aircraft investigations on YouTube, or reading aviation articles, please support and encourage them. Your motivation and support will help them live their dream of becoming a pilot. If your child’s eyes get gloomy talking about becoming a pilot, please take a moment to observe it. 

Encouraging children to dream big and work hard toward their goals is one of the most significant ways parents shape future pilots.

Providing Early Exposure: Taking your children to aviation museums, airshows, and airport visits can ignite curiosity and passion for flight. 

Aviation Exposure: Observe how much social media content they are consuming regarding piloting. 

Emotional Support: The journey to becoming a pilot is filled with challenges, including tough exams, rigorous training, and long hours of studying. Parental encouragement helps young aviators stay motivated. 

Financial Assistance: Plan your budget and finances. If your child is in school, please plan how you can save money by the time they finish their 12th grade. Flight training is expensive, and many aspiring pilots rely on family support to fund their education.

Pilots go through a lot in their journey. Navigating through these tough times, they need their parents' support, just as I got from my parents. 

Becoming a pilot is not an easy road. The journey is filled with intense training, sleepless nights before exams, and the pressure of performing well in simulator checks. At times, self-doubt can creep in, making it difficult to stay on course. However, the unwavering support and belief of parents can serve as a steady force that keeps an aviator’s wings steady.

In my case, my dad kept all his FD and home papers for my loan and continued to pay my EMI until a certain point. My mom's daily prayers kept me going.
